At Photo Cutouts, we love helping organisations bring their messages to life in fun and meaningful ways. One recent project that we’re really proud of was creating a Mega Card for Cards for Bravery, a UK-based charity doing incredible work to support hospitalised and seriously ill children.
About Cards for Bravery
Founded in 2015 by then-13-year-old Katie Callaghan during her own hospital stay, Cards for Bravery has one mission: to spread joy and comfort to young people facing serious health challenges. What started as one handmade card from a best friend has grown into a national charity that has now distributed over 45,000 handmade cards to children across hospitals, hospices, CAMHS units, and more. The team also creates activity packs, care packages, and other resources to lift spirits and offer support during difficult times.

The Mega Card at the Bravery Ball

To celebrate the impact of their work, Cards for Bravery hosted their Bravery Ball – and they wanted something special to bring guests together and reflect their values. That’s where our Mega Card came in.
Placed prominently at the event, the giant greeting card became a central interactive feature. Guests of all ages were invited to take a sticky note, write down their favourite thing about the charity, and stick it inside the card. It was more than just a display – it became a powerful symbol of connection, kindness, and reflection.
Heartwarming Feedback
Guests were genuinely moved by the idea. Many had never seen a card that size before, and the visual impact sparked plenty of smiles and conversation. The card helped people reflect on the charity’s work in a personal, creative way – which perfectly echoed Cards for Bravery’s mission.
“It was symbolic, visually impactful, and resonated with our mission. We wanted something more than just a backdrop — we wanted an interactive element that guests could really engage with.” – Katie, Cards for Bravery
Why They Chose Photo Cutouts
As a charity built around handmade cards, choosing a Mega Card just made sense. It was a fitting tribute to the work they do every day. They also told us our customisation options, product quality, and responsive customer service made the experience smooth from start to finish.
“From our first enquiry to the final delivery, the team was incredibly helpful, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping us create something special for the charity. From the first enquiry they were super keen to help us with this.” – Katie, Cards for Bravery
